Western-Nyanza alliance rooted as President Ruto’s stronghold

Western and Nyanza leaders allied to President William Ruto are now pushing for a political alliance to mobilize votes for the president while strategizing on how to succeed him come 2032. Led by Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi and Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, the leaders say it was high time people from the two regions leverage the cohesion they have enjoyed over time and rally behind President Ruto, with a view to succeeding him upon completion of his second term.
