People really need to understand how platforms like Brut work. They aren’t going to keep showing the same footage about the same conflict every day just to get views from people who already care about that issue. Their format is to cover unusual, significant, interesting, positive or negative stories from India and around the world.<br><br>Manipur’s violence absolutely deserves coverage, but that doesn’t mean every Brut video about Manipur has to be about the violence. Unlike channels that make one issue their primary focus and continuously post updates, Brut generally gives a status update when something significant happens and then continues covering other stories too.<br><br>A video showing something positive or unusual in Manipur isn’t “ignoring” the conflict. Not every piece of journalism has to focus on the worst thing happening in a place.

Where are the images of the killings, violence, displacement, and suffering? Why not show the reality instead of sanitizing it for a short?<br>I’m glad Manipur is finally getting your attention, but don’t mistake a polished short for journalism. When you ignore the blood and suffering on the ground, you become part of the media that profits from looking away.
