Gauteng 2027 online admission applications close at midnight: Onwabile Lubhelwana

The clock is ticking for parents in Gauteng who still need to apply for their children to enter Grade 1 or Grade 8 in 2027.

The Gauteng Department of Education's online admissions window closes at midnight tonight, after opening on 5 August. Parents who fail to apply during the official window will have to wait for the late-application period, which runs from December into January and will only consider schools where space remains.

The department has also stressed that simply creating a profile is not the same as completing an application. Parents need to select schools and submit the required supporting documents within the prescribed period.
