LGE 2026 | ANC blames technical issues for candidate lists submission problems

ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa, says technical problems with the IEC's online nomination system affected the submission of some of its candidate lists in KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, and the Eastern Cape.

He says its lists had been uploaded, but some candidates were not formally submitted because of problems during the final confirmation process.

The IEC, however, inists that the nomination system was available, and that it would not extend the deadline.

The ANC says it is engaging with the IEC and other political parties to find a solution.
