Nurses’ strike disrupts services at Samburu Referral Hospital, patients bear brunt

The ongoing nurses’ strike continues to disrupt services at Samburu Referral Hospital, with patients bearing the brunt of the industrial action. A spot check at the facility found most beds in the main wards unoccupied, while some patients were forced to seek shelter under nearby trees as they waited for medical attention. The hospital has also been forced to improvise, hiring about 20 health volunteers to help fill the gap left by more than 100 nurses who are currently on strike.
