MK Party accuses Gana of undermining Committee's independence following Adv. Madonsela decision

The MK Party is demanding that the chairperson of the Section 89 Impeachment Committee, Makashule Gana, be replaced.

It accuses him of undermining the committee's independence and credibility.

The party says it wants the committee to be led by an independent, non-GNU chairperson.

MKP Parliamentary leader, Dr John Hlophe, says the committee's credibility has been compromised following its decision to rescind the recommendation of Advocate Thandazani Madonsela as Evidence Leader.

The party has written to National Assembly Speaker, Thoko Didiza, calling for her urgent intervention.
