In a landmark settlement, Meta, known for Facebook and Instagram, will pay up to $17 billion in penalties to US states over the next 10 years. Meta has agreed to limit how much time teens can spend on its platforms, including restrictions during school hours and overnight.
The settlement will also provide funding for youth mental health services, after-school programs and crisis intervention.
