A Y-20 transport aircraft carrying a new batch of emergency relief supplies donated by China landed at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Thursday, as China stepped up assistance following a deadly mudslide that struck the China-Nepal border on August 26.
The aircraft also brought a new group of Chinese experts, who will assist Nepalese authorities in identifying victims of the disaster.
The shipment includes morgue freezers, epidemic-prevention materials, daily necessities and other items urgently needed in Nepal.
On Thursday, Nepali Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal thanked China during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming, saying that Nepal sincerely appreciates China's generous assistance at a time of crisis.
