Singapore prisons unveil autonomous robot for patrols and incident response

The Singapore Prison Service (SPS) has introduced PROTECT, an autonomous robot that can patrol prisons, stream live video and audio, and support officers in responding to incidents. If needed, officers can remotely activate an acoustic device, light distraction device or irritant spray. SPS says the robot is aimed at improving the safety of both inmates and officers, while allowing officers to focus on inmate rehabilitation. #sgnews #singapore
