Korle Lagoon Waste Relocation: Minister Ayariga Assesses Situation

Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, has toured the Korle Lagoon enclave to assess the volume of waste ahead of plans to relocate it to the Adepa Waste Management Center in Nsawam.

The Minister disclosed that an inter-ministerial team comprising the Local Government, Finance, Environment, Defence and Roads ministries has developed an action plan for the relocation, with the Military expected to lead the operation.

He also revealed plans to redevelop human settlements around the dumpsite to prevent the mass displacement of residents.
