When couples who are trying to start a family cannot afford a house but billions and billions are spent on buying out land, increasing prices, and threatening jobs?!? Do you really think China is to blame?

What a predictable take from the BBC. As always, for the BBC and other western media outlets, because China didn't democratize into a Western liberal democracy fashion and instead became immensely powerful economically, militarily, and now technologically to the point that it now eclipses US power, while still remaining, and in fact becoming even more, authoritarian under Xi Jinping, it is deemed to be behind every nefarious stumbles of the US on all its national endevours. So what's next? Solar panels made by China capable of shutting down a house's electricity instantaneously because the wife of the homeowner posted or liked a "Free Taiwan, Independent Taiwan" content? Oh wait... I forgot that that's been insinuated already by Germany's DW News in one of its equally obsessively evil-China episodes. Sorry... my bad, folks.

Given the efforts countries made at espionage during the cold war, I'd be stunned if they didn't use the absolute gift of social media and freedom of speech absolutism to further their goals. The tricky part is knowing which issues are affected. I've said for years online anonymity is the issue. I don't think unverified accounts should be allowed to comment or post anything, much in the same way as you have to provide ID if you want to open a bank account or get a sim card for a mobile phone.

No mention of literally two weeks before this the US 2027 State Department appropriations bill describing Ceuta and Melilla as "located in Moroccan territory" and "administered by Spain" which is a change to those cities being recognised as Spanish principalities? No mention of Trump's threat to Spain at NATO a few weeks before for not allowing access to Spanish airspace and refueling for US missions to Iran? No mention of Spain officially acknowledging the Genocide in Gaza, leading to Spain and Israel's embassadors being withdrawn? No mention of US and Israeli support to Morocco including arms sales? No mention of the footage of Morocco border guards opening the backs of trucks, illegal immigrants pouring out and being pointed to the border? None of this is conjecture or needs journalism it's all publicly available information and evidence...

So the BBC either has no balls, it's bad at investigative journalism or is still covering for Israel.

Care to respond BBC?

Elon musk he owns AI companies, he builds AI datacenters and has likely vested interest in dismissing and discrediting legitimate concerns about AI Data Centers.

To answer the question in the headline educated people understand they don’t benefit one dime from having a AI datacenter in their backyard and as such fight to stop them from being built with the terms, agreement and conditions put in place between government and big tech.

Make the deals reciprocal, local communities and state governments negotiate deals that benefit communities through high taxation of AI datacenter natural resource and land use then this would be a much less issue than it has become.

Governments are competing to attract the companies building them and gives out very lucrative tax breaks and exemptions that literally makes these buildings dead real estate for communities, only bringing higher power prices, large use of electricity and water resources and low jobs creation in operational state and no short term tax income for the local municipality, and state governments. It is a race to the bottom and governments must resist to bid below each other and instead cooperate against these tech giants so that they together can get the highest tax income possible both sort and long term from the use of land and destruction of environment and increased air pollution where gas power plants are used.

This has nothing to do with China it’s domestic people and communities standing up for their own best interests. If these multi billion dollar infrastructures don’t even bring in high tax revenues then what’s the point in having them in your community then they would be better off forcing them onto some other sad community somewhere else that’s dumb enough to accept horrendously bad terms in an agreement.
