LGE 2026 | MK Party looks ahead to 4 November polls

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party says it has cleared a key hurdle ahead of Local Government Elections, submitting its candidate lists to the IEC before the deadline.

The party says it has entered candidates for both ward and proportional representation contests across most of the country, despite conceding that its footprint remains limited in parts of the Northern and Western Capes.

As it looks to convert its strong 2024 electoral showing into local government support, it has already unveiled mayoral candidates for major metros, including Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and eThekwini.
