If Russia has so much oil, where’s the gasoline? | Break the Fake

Russian is facing a growing fuel crisis, but the Kremlin insists the problem is almost solved.

Putin says only 10% of the refinery damage caused by Ukrainian drone strikes remains to be repaired – while across the country, drivers are struggling to find gasoline. In Tyumen, one of Russia’s major oil and gas regions, many gas stations have reportedly run dry, with long lines forming at the few pumps that still have fuel. The contrast is hard to miss: Russia has vast oil reserves, yet increasingly cannot get enough gasoline to its own citizens. Meanwhile, the Kremlin continues promising that the situation will soon return to normal, even as damaged refineries and sanctions make repairs more complicated.
