When a government relies on foreign capital inflows—like speculative debt and portfolio investments—it uses a cosmetic shortcut to temporarily boost headline Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures. This creates a dangerous illusion of prosperity, allowing politicians to claim economic success while avoiding the hard work of building real economic solutions, ultimately causing the country to slide backward.

127 types of high-paying jobs—ranging from software engineers and network analysts to various architects and engineers—have been traded away under CECA.
Politicians frequently exploit crises to obscure self-inflicted issues.
To help the ruling party develop sounder policies for Singapore, citizens should consider voting for more opposition members to ensure a more balanced Parliament, particularly in addressing the high cost of living and low TFR.

By running the nation like a private corporation, the government routinely prioritizes top-line metrics like GDP, foreign investment, and massive fiscal surpluses over the lived well-being of its people.
This corporate-first framework relies heavily on aggressive population growth and hyper-competitive labor markets, making everyday citizens feel like expendable corporate employees rather than true stakeholders.
It is fundamentally unfair for generations of local Singaporeans to sacrifice, pay taxes, and build this country from nothing, only to watch policy frameworks prioritize an influx of newcomers over safeguarding local livelihoods.
True economic success cannot be measured by a corporate balance sheet; it must be defined by the security and purchasing power of the citizens who built it.

Land reclamation shouldn't outpace human reproduction. The PAP's proposal to merge Singapore's outer islands ignores our deepest crisis: a world-lowest TFR of 0.87.
Why build more space for tomorrow if we aren't supporting the citizens of today? Fix the birth rate first; prove the need for island expansion later.

AI is a knowledge and work quality equaliser. Highly educated population means nothing. A cheap mediocre engineer across the border now as capable as any highly educated person in a high income country. The model of building a highly educated workforce now has lower diminishing return on investment.
