<br>WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH), Chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI), unveiled a majority report detailing, for the first time, how the Obama administration secretly granted a license authorizing the conversion of Iranian assets worth billions of U.S. dollars using the U.S. financial system—despite repeated assurances to the public and Congress that Iran would not be granted access to the U.S. financial system. The Obama administration then asked two U.S. banks to execute the transactions, and they refused to do so. The report outlines key findings and recommendations designed to prevent this from happening in the future. Portman issued the following statement:

Despite claims both before and after the Iran deal was completed that the U.S. financial system would remain off limits, the Obama administration issued a specific license allowing Iran to convert billions of dollars in assets using the U.S. financial system. The only reason this transaction wasn’t executed was because two U.S. banks refused, even though the administration asked them to help convert the money. Hegseth declared this war a &#39;capital V military victory&#39; after just five weeks. He said Iran accepted a ceasefire and the war was over. That was August. This is now. He fired dozens of senior generals and admirals, but his only combat experience was 20 years ago as a junior officer building relationships with tribal leaders. This is who we put in charge.

It&#39;s <b>almost</b> impressive... I always say these guys are clowns. I say, That&#39;s not an idle insult. In a rodeo event, there are bull riders and there are the clowns. The clowns dress up in colorful clothes and go running in if the bull rider is thrown so they can distract the bull and the rider can get out safely. I note this when some member of Trump&#39;s circle says or does something ridiculous because, IMO, they&#39;re just clearly trying to distract the public from some Trump stupidity. But lately, it seems like the clowns are clowning for each other. It wasn&#39;t long ago that Kash Patel seemed headed for a fall, with reports of drinking and paranoia. Now, it&#39;s not discussed at all. Recently, RFK was on the hot seat because of the rise of measles. Now, it&#39;s Hegseth&#39;s time in the barrel. Trump is too chaotic and dumb to be doing this deliberately but it does seem like there&#39;s almost a purpose behind one person held up for ridicule, then the heat gets too high and then it&#39;s the next guy and ... Lather, rinse and repeat. Because the bottom line for me is ... NONE of these disgraces is ultimately held accountable at all!
