My ed started from wanting to eat healthy. i stopped eating junk food, which made me lose weight(mind you i was already underweight) i eventually became addicted to losing weight. the numbers dropping on the scale made me happy. i never fully starved myself. i didn’t really have a problem with eating. tho i skipped snacks and drastically shrunk my portions.i was probably getting under 900 cal a day at that point. i still ate desserts and stuff but i was terrified of fast food. despite being 10 kgs underweight, i never really had any of the ed symptoms. i felt fine throughout it all. my parents eventually took me to a dietitian. if they hadn’t, i probably would’ve been on the verge of organ failure right now. though i’ve never been able to relate to these videos cause i didn’t have typical anorexia. mine was some weird mix of anorexia and orthorexia.

It’s so sad how incredibly realistic this is. I struggled with mild orthorexia when I was in elementary school, I am a skinny person who sometime feels that im not skinny enough to please myself. For those of you struggling with eating disorders, you’re not alone and your experience is valid ❤❤❤

It’s kind of interesting because you start thinking red is considered bad stuff and green is good. And that makes the dress give you the idea that it would never work for her because it’s red and she doesn’t want that, and that even when she was green and skinny it wouldn’t be good, but then you take in the fact that the dress is red and it’s what she can’t help, symbolizing a driving force to do something that may not even be good for you if you take that into account, just as she can’t help eating the red unhealthy foods she can’t stop thinking about that dress; and it goes even deeper i think because the red is also not something she needs to get rid of even if it’s not as good as the green; it still is good in it’s own right, in that it’s not the dress that makes her look pretty, it’s her that makes the dress pretty if she was thinking healthily. You can also see her family members are red, and seeing as how she shuts off red food we can tell she’s shutting off her family too and of course they eventually get worried. I think the dress is yin and yang in that the dress is really evil, though it’s only her choices making it such.

I felt like this not long ago but I sucked at not eating stuff I like, so I used to sometimes treat myself with my dad, but i would focus on yogurt, yogurt has natural fat but since im gtowing i know i should have stuff like that , when im older i can go on a diet, but now, my grandma says im eating so little compared to before,

Which low-key makes me happy bc I'm GENUINELY BECOMING FULL WITH LESS FOOD,

And I see that I'm slightly less fat so I'm hapi:>

I also do martial arts which help, and I'm planning on sleeping early to let my body recover, speaking of that, I'ma sleep,

Neither deprivation nor overeating will help anyone; the key is moderation. I somewhat understand this girl because I've suffered from this problem myself, and I think many of us have experienced it.Every girl's body is different; it's impossible to have one standard for all girls in the world. If you want to feel like your body is in good shape, use it the right way, not deprive yourself of it forever... You are beautiful no matter what 🥹

I have always liked this short because it really shows the danger of anorexia and also how society portrays what is pretty and what is not it really is a good animation because it shows that people don’t ask for help they show it through signs and how it is really dangerous when taken to a level of wanting to be thin I personally am not thin neither am I far but that was caused trouble for me because people assume I am extremely obese when I am not and when I went to camp the girls in my cabin where always focused on their image to the point one of the are one meal a day for the whole week and when I asked her it was because she said I need to stay thin so I look pretty…

This is funny becuase my cousin has an eating disorder, she is in the healthy weight category , but she is taller than me (I’m 5”3 and she’s 5”8) and she’s younger than me. One time, we went to the store and we both tried on the exact same thing, but I looked really petite in it and she looked different. She was confused as to why we looked different and I did my best to explain that our natural frames were different, but she was convinced that she needed to lose weight.
Then I saw her last week, she looked the same. When she took off her sweater, her arms looked bony but not small. (Becuase of her bone density) and we went to the store again to try clothes again. She wanted to try matching clothes again and they still looked more petite on me, and she got mad and she won’t talk to me for a week. But I tried to tell her that our frames and heights are different but she just wants to be “skinny”no matter what.

I don’t know how to help her, she’s been doing therapy for a few years but she just lies to the therapist.

OH BUT THE WAY THE MANIQUENS WERE WEARING CERTAIN CLOTHES AT THE END AND WHEN SHE LOOKED TO HER LEFT , THERE WERE REAL PEOPLE WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES BUT THEY LOOKED DIFFERTN??? PEAK.

The mannequins had very vibrant colors, but if you look closely its almost looks glassy, like as if some bright lens were making it look more beautiful, being a metaphor for how society (or maybe someone subconcious?) sees a glamorous fantasy as something to achieve.

However, the people at the end look varied but in a more normal way. They have no facade or shine. Yet they seem very honest, giving a more grounded dull color.

** edit: oh, all of them have shine. It seems more as of this poor woman was seeing the world of more value than her.

wow i feel called out by this. it always started with "oh i'll just cut down lunch by a little" to "oh no one meal is too much for a day". at first, it was so easy, i lost 40 pounds in less than a year, and then somewhere along the lines, everything blurred, and i felt 500 calories for a day was too much. then, i started eating more than i usually did before all of this, and gained 20 pounds. i'm in recovery, but this short just brought back unpleasant memories. great form of representation tho

I know I shouldn't wish to be anorexic, and I don't. I'm just saying that between binge eating disorder and anorexia, I'd prefer to be anorexic instead... Because if I'm gonna be unhealthy either way at least some people will treat you with more compassion if you're underweight than over...

People assume you smell just cause your fat. Saw a video where a fat woman had gone missing and people were commenting making fun of her saying "How could you lose her???" "I don't think she went far guys."

Some people just stop seeing you as human if you're fat. As if you just existing as a fat person don't deserve to even grace their eyesight. Like it's disgusting to even have to look at you. Even if you don't care to attract them at all, being unattractive to them is like a sin itself.

Again, I'm not trying to make it a competition, I'm just saying that personally if I had to pick my poison...
