Trump says Iran must abandon nuclear ambitions as gas prices surge in US

US President Donald Trump says Iran must give up all nuclear ambitions if there is to be any settlement, though questions remain over whether he means military nuclear capabilities or all nuclear activity, including peaceful enrichment.

Trump also said he discussed Iran and Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding that a solution could come relatively quickly. He said Putin offered to help on Iran, but that securing a ceasefire in Ukraine was more important.
