The play 《Dead Poets Society》, based on the Academy Award-winning screenplay of the same name by Tom Schulman originally released in 1989, is making its official premiere in Korea.
Set at Welton Academy, a prestigious boarding school in 1950s New England in the United States, the story follows John Charles Keating, a newly appointed English teacher, and his students, who are under immense pressure to succeed in college entrance exams, as they embark on a journey to discover themselves.

1989년 개봉해 아카데미 시상식 각본상을 수상한 톰 슐만(Tom Schulman)의 동명 극본을 원작으로 한 연극 《죽은 시인의 사회》가 한국 정식라이선스 초연으로 무대에 오른다.
1950년대 미국 뉴잉글랜드의 명문 기숙학교 웰튼 아카데미에 새로 부임한 영어 교사 존 찰스 키팅과, 입시와 성공을 강요받는 학생들이 자기 목소리를 찾아가는 과정을 그린다.
