God bless all those who’re working so hard to rescue people who lived in Nepal. It’s shocking to read that the people’s republic of China has a total embargo on any news or coverage of rescue operations and there are rumours that they abandoned any efforts after 24 hours. Compare and contrast peeps :(

Is there not some kind of autonomous drone technology ( flying and or crawling) that can traverse the length of the tunnel searching for survivors ??? Surely that technology exists !!! 😠😠😠

Rescues knows the truth their sacrifice are invaluable, the price of development and infrastructures are high in human life in landlocked country particularly when surrounded by sea of mountains still covered by glaciers and melting glaciers forming lake, what happened are already unavoidable, people wanted electricity and development. but it was nothing new in hydro-electric infrastructures, human had always chose to live near by river, the location happen to be at the path when the build up lake the rest need no further explanation,

Sympathies to all those who suffer
Gratitude to those who are donating labor, expertise, and resources.
To the PM of Nepal,
1) how many times have similar events occurred there and other similar locations prior to the industrial revolution?
2) How many dams did you stack up one behind the other, with the potential of a devastating domino effect?
Clearly this is a major, tragic disaster. However, living in that valley included this risk before the industrial revolution.

Have to ask why people who planned and built these facilities (and other buildings in valley floors below the Himalayan plateau). Knowing that climate change was affecting the glaciers there, much faster than anywhere else. At least without better safety planning. I'm sure there was some planning, and maybe no one fully factored in such a catastrophic event... But, these glacier fed floods have been occurring for some time, to know that they are a thing.

Wow the comments.

His interviews, were the first time, I realised what was going on with the hydro tunnels. He's bringing awareness to what is still a black hole of information, of what is really going on, on the ground. Even ordinary citizens haven't been even able to send a text to let their families know they're alive. And, he's monitoring his computer, as he does these interviews, probably doing shifts with his wife, who is also a tunnelling engineer, 24/7, to help the rescuers onsite, who are otherwise working blind about how to best and most safely get in to them.

The guys crawling into these unstable hydro tunnels and withstanding the risks from controlled explosion (which include being suffocated and buried if the tunnel collapses) are the true heroes in this heartbreaking story. They deserve a medal 🥇
