Russia&#39;s actions do not fall below the threshold for acts of war. Intentional incursions into sovereign airspace certainly meet the definition. Acts of industrial sabotage meet the definition. State acts of terrorism against the Czech republic and others obviously meet the definition. By raising the bar for what constituties acts of war you give Putin the victory. You give him room to act against you with hostility. You appease him. It is nice to stand in front of the camera and speak bluntly with a stern face but your actions betray the truth. Punish Putin ten fold for his acts against the EU or you are appeasing him.

How can the Europeans be surprised? Europe has been actively fighting Russia. Without European support this war would have been over a long time ago. Aside the fact that it was Europe pushing the all idea of having Ukraine join NATO despite a clear signed agreement that Ukraine would never be part of NATO and as if that was not enough they also pushed the idea that nuclear weapons would be placed in Ukraine… now they are complaining that Russia might be quite “upset” at them! What a joke.

If EU and NATO will not treat Russian acts of war as acts of war then it is not merely appearance. Russia can act when and where it chooses. Compromise with fascists is always surrender. Appeasement of aggressive states is always a mistake. In order to prevent a catastrophic war you must react to these probing attacks as war. Letting the kremlin slow walk the west into division and discord is cowardice and will result in great and painful loss.

Russia took 5000 square kilometer in 2025 and 1700 square kilometer in early 2026. So total land taken is 6700 square kilometer. If it cost Russia 1000 soldiers for every kilometer then 6,700 x 1000 =6,700,000 Russian soldiers have died capturing Ukrainian land in 2025-2026. But Russia only have 3.52 millions military force. I think Czech president’s need to go back to school to learn basic math.

NATO is a Defensive Organisation, no matter how much Putin keeps making accusations and throws out threats he knows that NATO are not going to attack Russia. It would take Russia to attack a member State and even then depending upon how serious it was that doesn&#39;t necessarily mean that Article 5 would be enforced. As for Ukraine being short of interceptors such as Patriot, there are plans in place for a Ukrainian Company to build their own domestic alternative to Patriot.
