The International Relations Department says it has found no evidence that South Africa's High Commission to India facilitated former president Jacob Zuma's private visit to the sub-continent.
The department says this follows its consultations on the issue.
It also says that the High Commission provided Zuma with routine protocol and logistical support normally extended to former presidents.
According to the department, the High Commissioner Anil Sooklal attended a religious event in Haridwar after receiving a separate invitation, and did not accompany Zuma to his meeting with Ajay Gupta.
Let's discuss this further with International relations expert and former Ambassador of South Africa to Portugal Dr Kingsley Makhubela.
