Heard this story many times now and my reaction is always the same - pretty bad isolated environment to give access to a package manager, there is nothing novel about figuring out you can use package registries for exploits, especially if the agents could write to it, are you kidding me? That right there should void anything else that happened after, I bet models from years ago could have arrived at the same outcome.
