Long-awaited challenge for Balobedu throne is in court

There's an attempt to usurp the Balobedu throne from the Modjadji Royal Family.

This is what the the family's lawyer told the High Court in Pretoria.

They say the recognition of Queen Masalanabo Modjadji as Balobedu Monarch, has advanced this attempt.

The family wants the court to review and set aside President Cyril Ramaphosa's recognition of the queen, and order him to recognise the queen's brother as the Balobedu Monarch.
