LGE 2026 | Update on candidate nomination process

Still with elections related matters, the Electoral Commission says interest in the November Local Government Elections has surged, with more than 140 000 candidate nominations received, marking a 43% increase compared to the 2021 polls.

There are also over 100- 0000 for ward contests, while Independent candidates are also making a strong showing.
