Kantipur is a unreliable source of News in Nepal. I'm Nepali.
There is a lot of evidence to show that the Himalayas are warming at a faster rate than the global average: estimates vary between 2 to 5 times. Anyone living in a typical Himalayan very deep steep sided valley in Northern Nepal is at great risk. The villages are built on the only flat ground available in these incredible valleys. The permafrost is melting everywhere in the high Himalaya the rock and ice is becoming ever more unstable. Any rock ice slurry is funneled through these gorges at high speed. Death and destruction are inevitable.
Unbelievable that people in Nepal + govt. are not aware of climate change and how it affects them and their safety. Such a tragedy & maybe things would have been less severe had they been more aware.
It is unforgetable natural disaster in neoal
You are talented young man … sorry what happened your country we pray for you guys …😔😔
❤

Please stop pushing the standard climate change narrative and provide the facts - it was a bedrock collapse that took out part of the glacier. AP is showing the satellite images, and scientists have agreed that is NOT climate change but the bedrock that collapsed under the glacier.
The Nepali people in general don't know about climate change. Great question you ask: Do journalists feel a responsibility to educate the public on climate change. Nepali Times (English Weekly) covers some. We need all media outlets to do that. We need to negotiate a Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty and a Plant Based Treaty (a low carbon food system).
We sent money with our local Tibetan Buddhist nuns to give money directly to women, orphans and elders there. I had all my millionaire jews of los Angeles friends donate. And the native American casino fund. Red take care of reds. ❤ ( I shall get my receipts and video evidence of correct use of funds)
Anything journalists are doing in three is creating a spectacle..thats why they r there. Updates yes. Caneras in weeping faces NO
Es war wie eine Apokalypse....😢🙏🏻🙏🏻
Absolutely heartbreaking 💔. Prayers for the people of that region.
Although the Chinese government has done everything possible to conceal the recent crisis, the area affected by the floods in Tibet is far smaller compared to Nepal; hence, they will swiftly clean it up and issue widespread publicity announcements.
The Chinese government holds the ideology of highlighting whatever good happens in Tibet and concealing whatever bad occurs.
My condolences to all the people affected ❤❤🙏🙏
Who talks about Venezuela, Ecuador, Sudan, Gaza and and.... The hard work to get up again nobody sees. Consumers have to Consumer and not to think about the posibility of losts. They are all so material and a disaster show them there own end. After a short shock they don't want to see more. Tom week to bear it.

Himalayan ranges still is busy pushing north and rising by a few centimetres every year.
Any major infrastructure activity here is likely to have repercussions as the relentless rising of the Himalayan ranges continues.
Perhaps this is is beyond capability of the China to predict or even comprehend the dangers. Clearly China has to grow up or direct the flow towards China. The right thing to do would be to vacate Tibet as it has no right or sense to deal with these complex issues. China does not care as Tibetans are expendable and Nepal is already bought just like Pakistan.
The west as usual do not give a damn as it is not their problem and is benefiting from China.
Global warming inducing country is giving 3.6 million dollars to nepal as relief fund.We dont need your 3.6 m dollar relief fund. What we need is compensation from your and other major global warming inducing countries.
I live in Sweden and the first thing I saw was from the border crossing, and the horrible wave . I'm so so sorry for the people ❤❤😊
How people will overcome the loss of their family members and especially young children will be so very difficult. I am heartbroken 💔 for everyone in Nepal.
just look at the headphones on this wooden spoon
Difficult to blame this tragedy on Climate Change because it is Political, and in the case of Nepal, GeoPolitical. Climate does change through Earth's history in a way it can't be controlled by humans, some scientist are so much looking forward at the universe's expansion and the Earth's orbital pathway changes near and far from the sun through millennia and its cycle, that are looking more at the time when we may need to leave this planet to save humanity. Having China next door with all their geological work would be more critical in my view and our existence immediately, than the climate change...unless a nuclear bomb or another virus is unleashed
Such an important and helpful interview in the midst of this tragedy.
Nepali people will bounce back from this tragedy. Saw their resilience in 2015. Jai Nepal.
