The data centers are being built by the wealthy to take over the world. Politicians are in the bag. This is just round #1. The electric grid can’t be upgraded fast enough which is why the hyperscalers are also building gas turbine “farms” with battery banks so they can run’em 24x7. Say good bye to peace and quiet. The mecha generation is coming. Nuclear power will arrive a bit later then its game over.

there will be a correction, just as every other boom cycle from novel emerging technological revolutions. Yes, venture capital financing are "overspending". We absolutely feed this monster as we did building the internet developement. Most of any hype cycle is fueled by lofty expectations of growth from the perception of outcomes that we do not quite understand. AI is going to kill all jobs, the government will have to give everybody a UBI monthly check so they can buy the crap that companies sell that fired everyone. All companies will have 1 employee. LOL! 1st of all why would a company fire you to now be required to give you money to sit on your ass? There are no consumers income tax, right, they dont work! Additionally, your capitalist government would never pay you do do nothing! Have you noticed the whole UBI bullshit fears evaporated.? You had the AI founders/leaders actually warning that they feared jobs will be replaced. They themselves started this. Now because of no massive layoffs and the emerging next wave in this cycle, "the show me the money faze" companies are finding that their workers using this shit are more productive and the AI leaders who once said doom/gloom are retracting these fears. And yes, these private AI companies want to go public and they are cutting their throats if they fuel doom/gloom but companies and individuals are finding not only cost saving from AI but increased productivity and efficiencies.Given however, many companies are unwisely throwing money at adoption while previously paying high token costs and with no real gains. This is the process at work! Cheap open source Chinese models are forcing AI providers to restructure expensive LLM's into routing companies workloads to cheaper often locally run models and limiting more costly workloads to the clod when needed. Again, adaptation, competition, resillency. There in lies the fear of being left out and the inevitable greed that fuels the boom cycle of an unproven fury of expectation. Many companies will fail. Yahoo, Lycos, Exite falls and a new little startup Google emerges and thrives. A small online bookstore will soon kill brick and mortal Borders and Waldenbooks. A startup Amazon soon will not only sell books but everything giving Walmart competition and local businesses . We over built the railroads just as we over built fiber optic and internet structure but as cycles bust there is resiliency and new growth and we then used all of that capacity. So will be the AI revolution. We will bust and correct, then plateau and slowly rebound. The Gartner Hype Cycle at play again. Tracks how expectations and maturity for new technologies evolve over time, moving through five distinct phases from initial breakthrough to mainstream adoption.

Listen! Anything can happen, here's my prediction. It is correct to say that most people that are victums of these "data center apocalypse" DID NOT know about it until their country bumkin cousin told them about it! They didn't know what the fck AI was! And they still don't understand it! All they know is that supposedly their energy bill went up, their local water supply is being used, they use massve gas turbines that pollute the air, and the fckin data centers create constant low frequency sounds from the collective hum of 1000s of hot ass GPUs running. Lets top that off with the nerve of their Govenor and local city/county to accept this because that got handed a bag of cash! ALL TRUE and valid points to have "folks" bring their pitch forks to a town hall and legitimately BITCH. what's that you say? Why am i stereotyping dumb country folk? Don't they build them in urban areas? YES some, but do you know why they pick poor rural areas that have water supplies and corrupt Governors of poor country land that can easily be handed a bag of cash? Because your government don't give a fck about you and by the time you figure it out you are already fcked! But you aren't going to stand for this. You and your cousins are registered voters in these parts. You are going to yell about it at the TOWN HALL, meanwhile the multi-billion dollar project from a tech executive vould buy your entire city. So here we are the pitchforks are getting ready to make NIMBY to datacenters a top issue AND THEY SHOULD! Guess what? These data centers ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE! All of the
aforementioned problems are solvable with technology and changes in guidlines/restrictions and regulations. Good news you are going to say yes to datacenters because now not only are they going to use closed system recycled water cooling systems (new construction already does) so they are not wasting your water, construction will not blow your foundation to shit from the dynamite used, regulated air quality will require alternate power solutions, batteries, solar, wind and yes NUCLEAR! They are already starting to be required to not only not drive your energy costs up but actually drive costs down.In 5 years because of the power needed nuclear power plants will be built to not only power the center but drive local cost down. And no one is going to say NIMBY, this is not the 70's 3 mile island anymore. Sound will be suppressed with internal/external noise absorbing material. Micro-Scale (Server Cabinets): High-end, "plug-and-play" soundproof micro-data centers deploy this hybrid model directly on the floor. Enclosures like the USystems EDGE-3 feature dense, foam-dampened passive air channels paired with active, dynamically controlled fan arrays to muffle server screeching down to a whisper.Macro-Scale (Facility Level): Standard, open-air consumer ANC (like headphones) doesn't scale well to massive rooms because phase control fails when people move around. Instead, data center facilities use specialized industrial ANC—such as ZeroSound IoT panels—which create localized 3D "quiet zones" directly in front of major low-frequency industrial noise polluters like outdoor chillers, while the building envelope itself relies on heavy passive concrete walls and structural vibration isolation. On top of all these changes they are currently discussing funding proposals. a massive wave of public pushback has changed how these deals are negotiated. Lawmakers and communities are now demanding Community Benefit Agreements (CBAs) and proposing strict new federal and state laws to ensure data centers pay into public funds. Because tech companies face severe community opposition, they are increasingly forced to accept CBAs that feature direct payments to towns. The Revenue Proposals: Under frameworks like the proposed Community-Integrated AI & Data Center Development Act, policy researchers are pushing for a requirement where data center operators must contribute at least 0.5% of their gross revenue into a locally administered fund. These direct contributions do not go to individual bank accounts. Instead, they are earmarked for public benefits like financing local infrastructure improvements, school funding, or municipal utility upgrades. The "Data Center Public Investment" Tax: In August 2026, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden introduced a sweeping draft proposal to strip away federal tax incentives from tech companies. His plan aims to levy a gross receipts excise tax on data center operators to generate a consistent revenue stream specifically used to support American workers displaced by AI disruptions. States like Texas, Arizona, and Illinois have moved to eliminate or pause their data center sales tax exemptions. By forcing these centers to pay standard property and sales taxes, local municipalities gain millions in public budget revenue, which can indirectly alleviate the tax burden required to fund local public services. DATACENTERS ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE. Besides our economy is riding right now on AI! I love how American uses this idea that we can't let China win the AI race, LOL, nobody WINS wars and you can't "win" a emerging technological developement that changes every day. It called competition and if you stop, you get left behind! Its and onggoing process. There is no "congratulations, you have won the AI race" you can stop now! You lead one month and then you get leap frogged, back to the grindstone.China may not be leading but they are driving the cost of "compute" down significantly with cheap open source models. This forces the US AI companies to lower costs. Soon it will be a commoditized business and the money will be from companies and individuals users who extract value, uses to not only save costs but to create new revenue from applicaations and entirely new opportunities. Once physical manual labor was threaten by technological advancement implementation, now white collar work is being automated. Good news, people always adapt and a new economy will emerge. Agrarian Age gave way to the Industrial which yielded to computer revolution, Digital Age. The "economy of ideas" will emerge. One person or a small business will use agentic AI to drastically lower the cost of turning ideas in to marketable products, goods/services. That guy , maybe you that says "I'm saving money to start a business . Someday, someday. He/she will have cheap agents that substitute a lawyer, a financial planner, paperwork costs, construction, secretary, staff, employees. So many people have passion and great ideas but no capital, no credit. Forevery job replaced there will be a business created.
