Pattaya is probably the best choice now, it’s 2 hours from Bangkok megalopolis where large numbers of American business presence provide top notch foodstuffs and highest quality standards and products. The US only resupply and replenish on safety requirements basis.

Avoid pattaya when the us sailors are there during next 5 days because aside from the rowdiness of 5k sailors needing to blow off steam there is also iranian and middle eastern community living in thailand as you don't know if anything could happen.
