As hundreds of Malawian nationals have sought emergency refuge outside Sherwood Hall in Sydenham, Durban, Premier Thami Ntuli is hosting a series of high-level diplomatic engagements.

The Malawian nationals fled their homes in nearby Clare Estate informal settlements, amid escalating violence.

The province is preparing to host a summit on undocumented foreign nationals later this month.
