"Without a doubt, I think China is one of the safest countries to live in the world."

Max, a UK citizen living in Changsha, recalls leaving his motorbike keys in the ignition for an entire day, only to return and find everything exactly as he left it. He says he feels both safe and at ease, and is struck by how simple it is to build a life in China, in some respects, even more so than back home.
