BRITISH PM KEIR STARMER STEPS DOWN
Britain woke up to a political earthquake this morning. Keir Starmer has resigned as prime minister, and before the dust even settled, the race to replace him was already over. In a statement made outside his office at 10 Downing Street, Starmer said he accepts “with good grace” the decision of his own party concerning his leadership, adding that he had already spoken to King Charles about his resignation.

CAN ZELENSKYY EASE TENSIONS WITH POLAND?
Ukrainians and Poles “cannot be anything but partners and friends” is how Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on Polish-Ukrainian relations, which have lately been strained by political decisions rooted in their shared violent history.

STRIKE OVER CZECH STATE MEDIA REFORMS
Employees from Czech public media have begun what has been called a "warning strike" over funding. The planned 15% cut in financing could cause mass layoffs. Some accuse the government of wanting to turn its public media into a self-serving mouthpiece.
