A third round of direct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon to save a fragile ceasefire has wrapped up for the day in Washington. Lebanon says it will press Israel to stop its attacks and abide by the truce declared last month. An Israeli government spokesperson says the talks are focused on disarming Hezbollah and reaching a broader peace agreement. Hezbollah has rejected the negotiations, demanding the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon. The ceasefire is due to expire on Sunday.
Al Jazeera’s Manuel Rapalo reports from Washington, DC, on those negotiations.
