From a centuries-old tradition to a modern sporting spectacle – the Dragon Boat Festival is making waves again – and it's much bigger than the competitions. Dragon boats are becoming a new calling card for tourism in the southern province of Guangdong, powering everything from cultural sight-seeing to sports and manufacturing, as well as food and retail. During last year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Guangdong welcomed more than 23 million visitors, generating over $16 billion in tourism revenue.
