Youth gang involvement remains major concern in SA

The involvement of children and the youth in gang activities remains among the major societal challenges South Africa is grappling with - an issue which can only be adequately addressed if every arm of society works collectively.
Rampant gang violence on the Cape Flats has resulted in numerous young children killed in crossfire this year alone. Anti-crime activists say its deeply worrying that children continue being recruited into the gang subculture.
